SUMMARY:Core Medical Foundation Outreach Program
DESCRIPTION:CLICK HERE to download the waiver. \nThe Core Medical Foundation along with Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Department is hosting the Adam Nelson Memorial Event. This is a one-day event on Saturday\, June 15 th at the Caddo Parish Training Academy (15639 LA-1\, Shreveport\, LA 71115). It will be open to all LEOs. 3-hour Pistol Class and a 2-hour medical class taught by former Special Operations and law enforcement veterans from the Core Medical Foundation. It will culminate with the Adam Nelson Memorial Competition shoot. There will be lunch and dinner provided. Each participant gets a goody bag as well as raffle tickets available for purchase. All proceeds will go to Adam Nelson’s widow. Our goal with this event\, is to give back to the LEO community by offering some free training\, raise some funds for a fallen officer’s family/widow\, and bring the community together through the event itself. \n\n0900-1200 Pistol Course\n12-1230 Lunch (provided)\n1230-1430- Medical training\n1430-1730 Steel Challenge Adam Nelson Memorial Shoot\n1730 – 1900 Dinner and a Raffle\n\nWhen: June 15 th 9AM-7PM. \nWhere: Caddo Parish Training Academy\n15639 LA-1\, Shreveport\, LA 71115\n(off HWY 1 by lock and dam #5) \nI met Adam Nelson while teaching SOCP at Caddo Parish Training Center for Counter Drug program. Adam was young and hungry. He was a professional cop who took his job very seriously. He set out to get additional training for his department and set up multiple meetings to try and get Blackbeard Solutions to train his Narcotics team/Swat team at Sabine Parish. He got into BJJ after working with me doing SOCP. We grew close because of his pursuit for knowledge and education in his craft. He sent me videos of his first BJJ tournament where he won gold in two divisions. He called me often for fitness\, tactics\, and shooting advice. We stayed in contact until he passed away from a heart attack at 24 years old while skiing with his wife on vacation. What better way to start this program than by honoring a dedicated warrior like Adam Nelson.
